Led by Fire
This message invites us to consider how the Holy Spirit serves as our divine guide through every season and decision of life. We explore the transition in Acts from casting lots to determine God's will to the arrival of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost, who came to dwell within believers. The symbolism of fire throughout Scripture consistently represents God's instruction, guidance, and direction, from the burning bush where Moses received his calling to the pillar of fire that led the Israelites through the wilderness. The message challenges us to recognize that we no longer need to depend on earthly methods to discern God's will because we have 24/7 access to the Holy Spirit who leads us into all truth. Through four practical principles—relationship, reading the Word, obedience to the last thing God told us, and practice—we learn how to tune our spiritual ears to hear His voice. The encouraging reminder that following the Holy Spirit's leading is like exercising a muscle gives us permission to start small, asking Him about daily decisions to build our sensitivity to His guidance for the bigger decision moments in life.
