Sleeping Beauty

What if the greatest threat to the church today is not opposition from the outside, but a deep, comfortable slumber from within? This message draws a striking parallel between the classic fairy tale of Sleeping Beauty and the current condition of the Western church. Just as Aurora was not dead but simply asleep, the church today still carries identity, authority, destiny, and purpose, yet so much of it lies dormant. We explore the sobering reality that a church does not have to be dead to be ineffective. We can still hold services, fill calendars, sing songs, and preach sermons, and yet remain spiritually unconscious of what God is calling us to do and be. Drawing from Ephesians 5 and Romans 13, we are confronted with a direct scriptural call to wake up, not because God is sleeping, but because we are. The night is far spent, the day is at hand, and the harvest is not gone. It is simply waiting for a church that is fully awake to go after it.
